Sonar Festival announces last names for 2017th edition

Sónar finalizes its line-up for 2017 with the legendary Masters At Work for the Sonar by Night event.

Sónar 2017 program has been finally finalized by adding the celebrated duo Masters At Work and their 6 hous session at SónarCar (Friday night). Masters At Work is the house-garage production team of Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez. Having put their stamp on varieties of genres over the past 30 years, this historic duo will play a set that keeps the restored philosophy of the Sónar by Night space.

Another American house master who joins the Sónar by Night program is Derrick Carter, while the new stage at Sónar by Day – SonarXS will be occupied in order to share today’s most radical electronic music sounds and trends by adding unique names such as: Yves Tumor (modern, dark soul and hip hop), Sturla Atlas (Icelandic trap, R&B and soul, vocalist), Kablam (new grime and sound collage), Toxe (experimental dance from Sweden) and Juan Ingaramo (minimal electronic pop and soul from Argentina).

Next joining the festival’s program is a trans-disciplinary project that unites scientists, musicians, digital artists and creative programmers known as Dopplereffekt + Antivj + Scientists + Artist-coders – Entropy. Their showcase is defined as a scientific conference presented by Dr. Dida Markovic (astronomer and cosmologist) combined with a live show from the prestigious electronic duo Dopplereffekt, and visualizations of astronomical data designed by digital artists Antivj.

Sónar Festival 2017 in numbers is, 140 performances across 9 different stages, including the names of Justice, Moderat, Nicolas Jaar, DJ ShadowThundercat, John Hopkins, The Black Madonna, and many others. One of the main stages of Sónar by night will be closed by Nina Kraviz. See the full program here.
