“We have decided we had to do something, to raise peoples spirits and keep fighting on. Our mental health is fragile and we thought we need to dance again. We also saw the huge amounts of money raised by United we Stream GM more than a quarter of a million) to help people in this desperate hour. We are also adding the wonderful The Albert Kennedy Trust to help our LGBTQ community. Things are tough and we need to help each other and give something back.
We approached all our queer family and Homoelectric heros and the response was overwhelming. Everyone is djing and performing for free. It makes us very happy that our community is uniting to help people. We need light and love and yes money to support those in desperate need”
This event is free but if you are in a position to donate you can buy a virtual ticket and support bars, clubs, pubs, venues, restaurants, performers, freelancers and cultural organisations across Greater Manchester as well as support the fight against homelessness in Greater Manchester. Also we have decided to donate a percentage of any donations for this stream to the Albert Kennedy Trust akt supports lgbtq+ young people aged 16-25 in the uk who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.”
